Mojave Max emerged from his winter brumation at 11:14 A.M. on February 19, 2004.  This is the earliest time Max has made his appearance in the last five years.  The highest temperature at noon was 61 degrees F; the low for the day was 41 F; his burrow was 50 degrees F; the shade temperature was 66 degrees; and the ground temperature was 91 degrees.
