Las Vegas Natural History Museum Presents:
Underwater City:
Life in the Coral Reef
A conservation outreach program
This multidisciplinary program was created to compliment existing national, state and local education standards for 2nd and 3rd grade science, math, art, and language. A grade appropriate program is available for Pre-K - 1st also.
By providing teachers with classroom teaching trunks filled with fascinating and helpful resources, equipment, specimens, and lesson plans students will have a chance to explore the wonderful underwater life of the coral reef without ever leaving their classroom.
Skills and concepts will be reinforced when Museum Education Staff visit your classroom for a presentation that includes colorful characters, important ecological information, and life long lessons about the coral reefs of our world’s oceans that are home to thousands of species of fish and other sea creatures. In fact, nearly a ¼ of all sea life live in and around coral reefs!
Thanks to generous community support, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum is proud to offer this outreach free of charge to all schools that qualify. For all other schools there will be a small presentation fee.
