Lake Mead Visitor Center
The Lake Mead Alan Bible Visitor Center is located three miles south of Boulder City just off of Highway 93. We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
We have interactive discovery exhibits that help to introduce you to a few common animals and plants. By viewing the interactive relief map you can better familiarize yourself with the geography of the area. Through a computer graphic program you can see the park's geologic story in a 90 second video. There is a touch table for all ages and some children's activities as well.
For a "behind the scenes" perspective of what it takes to manage this unique area, you can view the Lake Mead video. If you'd rather do your exploring out doors, you can walk the cactus gardens and perimeter trail. There you will be able to see evidence of animal activity as well as ponder the unique adaptations of desert plants. For more information you can call the visitor center at (702) 293-8990.
