Southeast Area Science Consortium
The mission of the Southeast Area Science Consortium is to educate and inform students, Clark County School District staff, and the community about the availability and diversity of the scientific sites.
The goals of the SE Science Consortium are to:
* promote science education and hands-on science exploration in the Clark County School District, implementing Nevada State Education Standards and the National Science Education Standards which state that "science is an active process; science is something students do, not something that is done to them."
* coordinate individual school efforts in order to leverage resources, to create a stronger, broader, richer, science program, and to make them accessible to all Clark County students and community members.
* provide leadership in administrative and financial arenas to these projects, and to the broader goal of a unified science experience leading to students’ developing a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the sciences, ultimately encouraging more students to enter science careers and vocations.
* promote this project in the community and in the nation, thereby furthering community interest in the schools, student performance, and educational excellence.
