Educators,

The Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association is excited to announce the start of a new classroom based environmental education program.  Starting in Fall 2007, a naturalist will be available to come to your classroom to present a variety of State, CEF and Power Standard based environmental programs.  Programs will be offered for grades K-5 and cover topics such as desert weather, animal and plant ecology, adaptations, and life cycles; geology, and pioneer and Native American history.

These programs will give students the ability to experience and learn from their desert surroundings even if constraints prevent your class from visiting Red Rock Canyon.

Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association is also interested in "adopting" a school.  In exchange for having a guaranteed contact with all the classes in your school (in onsite and classroom settings) the Interpretive Association would provide bus scholarships and other supplies to help build a relationship between a community of students and the resources of Red Rock Canyon.  Interested principals and teachers can contact Aaron Leifheit at 702-515-5377.

Please refer to the attachments for program objectives, details, topics, and contact information.

Thank you,

Aaron Leifheit
